If you call it like you did, the compiler does not know which function version you meant, and it should not compile, because it has to cast the double type 2.0, and it does not know whether it should be a float for the second function version, or an int for the first version. Try calling it like this:
The actual code that does not display anything is:
gl::drawStrokedCircle( mYellowCircleLocation, 24.0f, 2.0f);
Your right, if I had left the 'f' off I would get a compile error.
