I have installed Cloud Mountain on my Mac. I like the
overall feeling. Some feedback:
- I think that displaying time is not a good idea. It simply
steals the show.
- In any case, if time must be displayed: no need to count the
seconds, and also: text should be as-crisp-as-possible.
I did not try the other screen-saver. One quickie after watching
the video: some of the geometry in the foreground becomes visible only
after it has entered the viewpoint. You should try tweaking your
Finally, I recommend registering as a Mac app-developer. Signing
the apps you produce will allow for a smoother user-experience in term
of download and installation.
After a few days with cloud-mountain installed as the default
screen-saver: I'm not sure anymore it will work without some
"main feature" in the top-area of the screen...
I wonder if something else than the current time could be
displayed? It could still be related to space and time, but on another level...
Regarding the Mac Developer thing: it's helpful even when you
don't distribute via the AppStore (e.g. this
work can be downloaded as a regular OSX app, but when running for
the first time, users won't be annoyed by the "App can’t
be opened because it is from an unidentified developer" thing...)
